Here is some more information about the Under Armour Fishing Team.
The Under Armour Fishing Team thrives on competition. Few other formats in the world provide the adrenaline rush of a high-profile saltwater fishing tournament—it’s man versus fish and also man versus the elements, where the high seas can play just as big a role in a team’s success or failure at the end of the day.
But for those who strive to excel and are passionate about being number one, it means putting the cards on the table and fishing competitively as often as possible. Each season the Under Armour team will compete in dozens of tournaments ranging from inshore redfish to king mackerel to marlin and sailfish on both the East Coast and Gulf Coast tournament circuits.
It’s that desire to be on the leading edge that drives both the team and the Under Armour brand—second best just isn’t an option.
Below is some more information about the 43rd Annual LOOP Billfish Tournament.
The LOOP, all release billfish tournament, is the NameSake event that founded this great organization. Old Salt is an acronym for Operation LOOP Development (OLD) Suncoast Anglers LOOP Tournament (SALT) which was the name of the original founding tournament. The Old Salts, and the LOOP Tournament, is celebrating 43 years of tradition and excellence this year.
The LOOP was held last weekend at the Madeira Beach Marina in Madeira Beach, FL and was sanctioned by the (IGFA) International Game Fish Association.
The LOOP among anglers has been called the “Iron Man” of Billfishing Tournaments. Team Hi Hatter – Captain Brian Turner (2004 Billfish Division Winners) said, “This is the one to win, because it separates the boys from the men!”
The LOOP also served as the 3rd and final tournament in the new Westcoast Triple Crown Billfish Series. A $50,000 reward was presented to the first place finisher.
