St. Louis, Missouri

The Hart’s invaded St. Louis, Missouri with the premise of winning and earning maximum championship points. After their podium finishes in Dallas, they continued into rounds three and four with the same momentum. It was no surprise to the competitors that TORC brought rain to St. Louis. Saturday’s race cancellation called for a double header on Sunday. Marty and Kyle prevailed tough competition at Gateway Motorsports Park Dirtplex to head back to Louisiana with two first place trophies and great deal of satisfaction.

It was apparent in Dallas that Kyle came in looking to win a championship, and that is the same mentality we are continuing to see. He has taken the skill behind the wheel from his father and established himself as a serious competitor in the Pro Lite class. Kyle started the Sunday morning action off on the front row alongside Luke Johnson. The Pro Lite class is best know for chaos. The battle gets physical and aggressive. Kyle battled hard in the top three for most of the race and ended up falling one short of the podium, finishing fourth.

In round four all Kyle saw was competitors in his rear view mirror. Kyle took the green flag strong and never looked back. The battle stayed behind him, door to door for the second and third position. It was looking like another runaway win for the 41 Maxxis Tire Pro Lite. Kyle gracefully held on to that top spot leaving the physical battle behind him. The young gun has yet again put down another win in TORC leading every single lap in the Pro Lite race.

The team worked hard to make necessary changes to the truck, trying new things is important to find a little extra edge that could make the difference for a podium finish. Marty pulled the hole shot at the drop of the green flag to set the pace for the track. Hart put the truck into lines any veteran would take, adding truck lengths on the pack. Laps of constant battle were put down and the pack was closing in on Marty. The battle came door to door with Marty, the outside line let him down, slipping him back to second. Not long after, a little door to door action put him up on two wheels and he fell back to the third position. Competition yellow came putting a serious threat on on the pack leader Cj Greaves. Kincaid was feeling the pressure from Marty for a few laps, but the running order stayed the same through the checkered flag with Hart rounding out the podium.
Round four for Marty would give him the chance to get redemption from round three and hold that top spot. As the green flag dropped Marty settled in behind the first place truck, established his momentum and waited for his forceful line to take the move on the pack leader. After a couple turns Marty took his opportunity on the leader taking the inside line to take the first place position. Running out front isn’t anything new for Marty. He knew what he had to do to get comfortable and run it smooth to the checkered flag. Hart continued to put truck lengths on the field all the way to the competition yellow. As the field gathered Marty felt excitement from his sons win less than an hour before, he knew he wanted that win to have a father-son victory. When the green flag dropped Marty left the pack. As laps progressed, Cj Greaves began to eat the roost of that Systems Control Pro 2. Cj got the door to door opportunity diving into the inside of Marty, side by side over a jump, and Marty came out on top. The checkered flag brought the first TORC Pro 2 victory for Marty.
Father-son victories
This round of racing was epic in many ways for the Hart’s. Marty and Kyle both only had one thing in mind, and that was winning. The buzz leading up to the Pro 2 race, after Kyle’s win, was if Marty would do the same to bring home their first father-son victory. Marty is a well-known veteran, and there is no question about it that his son Kyle is following in his footsteps. The desire to win a championship is something that runs deep within the Hart’s. The weekend left Marty, wife Sharon and Kyle’s sister Megan with a grin from ear to ear. This set a personal milestone for the Hart’s earning the very first of many to come father-son victory tandems.
