Rigid Shines During The Bassmaster Classic Weekend

Rigid Industries LED Lighting had a major presence at the 2014 Bassmaster Classic, held Feb. 21 – 23 in Birmingham, Alabama. Along with multiple anglers running Rigid LED Lights on their boats and tow vehicles, we had the opportunity to showcase some new products and meet many of our supporters at the Rigid booth at the Bassmaster Classic Outdoor Expo.

This year’s “Super Bowl of Fishing” lived up to its reputation as record crowds took in the tournament and expo. A combined estimated 11,500 fans set a record over the tournament’s three days for the largest launch crowds in Bassmaster history. The Classic field was loaded with talent that featured seven Classic champions and eight Bassmaster Anglers of the Year.

The Rigid Torture Team was well represented on Lake Guntersville. Brandon Palaniuk (14th Place), Dean Rojas (17th Place), David Walker (19th Place) and Ish Monroe (20th Place) made the final day’s cut, joining the 21 other anglers who had the opportunity to win fishing’s greatest title and $300,000 prize. Other Rigid Torture Team members who were a part of the 55-angler field included Josh Bertrand and David Walker.

Congratulations go to Randy Howell for winning the 2014 Classic title as he bested Paul Mueller by one pound. Cheers also go out to Kevin VanDam who has now totaled the most career cumulative weight in the Bassmaster Classic. KVD, fishing in his 24th Classic, now has the all-time weight record at 784 pounds, 5 ounces, passing Rick Clunn with 772 pounds, 2 ounces.

Thanks go to the many Bassmaster Elite and FLW Tour Anglers who took the time to stop by the Rigid Industries booth at the Expo to visit fans. Torture Team members Adrian Avena, Stetson Blaylock, Justin Lucas, Britt Myers and Gerald Swindle, along with Kirkland Desmond and Brad Knight, were some of the many professional anglers that visited the Rigid booth over the weekend.

From the many fishing enthusiasts that visited our booth to the thousands who joined us on the docks for each day’s launch, we also want to thank you for being a part of Rigid Nation and your continued support of all things Rigid!
