LOORS-AZ1Rigid Nation and the Rigid Industries Torture Team are ready for some off-road racing right in our own backyard this weekend in Chandler, Arizona.

The opening round of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series (LOORRS), the Arizona Off-Road Nationals, will take place on March 22 – 23 at the Wild Horse Motorsports Park.

With the tag line, “This is Short Course”, LOORRS offers racing fans intense and tight four-wheel off-road action on tracks, instead of open desert courses. The best short-course, off-road drivers in the world are ready to battle door to door and bumper to bumper to kick off the sixth LOORRS season this weekend at the venue formerly known as Firebird International Raceway.

Torture Team members and Rigid Racers competing in the Arizona Off-Road Nationals include Casey Curry, RJ Anderson, Brandon Arthur, Myan Spaccarelli and many more.

Wild Horse Motorsports Park will host the first two rounds of the 15 that determine the points champion in each LOORRS class. All the series events are technically three-day affairs as teams will run their vehicles through tech inspection on Friday, March 21, with no on-track activity. And during the weekend, drivers will practice, qualify and then race the two Pro rounds.

Pro Lite racer Casey Currie is anxious to start competing for LOORRS championship points. “I’ve really been itching to get back into the swing of things,” said Casey. “With the support I have in 2014, we have the means to reach above and beyond our goals.”

Pro Lite driver and 18-year racing phenom Brandon Arthur is also pumped for this weekend’s races. “I am excited to get back to short course racing,” said Brandon, “I love the desert, and I will be running some events in the Trophy Truck this year. But short course is so competitive, that’s where I want to be. I’m anxious to get back on the track.”

Driver of the Tonka Pro 2 truck, Myan Spaccarelli, realizes the importance of lighting as most of the LOORS races occur at night so he relies on Rigid LEDs. Myan said, “Rigid lights make the all-around best light on the market and they’re vibration-tested to military standards, so we know they can meet our needs.”

This week’s races at the Wild Horse Motorsports Park are during the day and will be the first of eight events on the LOORRS schedule. Other races in this year’s short course, off-road racing series include:
