Liquid Fire Fishing Team June Update

Rigid Industries Torture Team Members Liquid Fire provided an update on their May fishing tournament.

Liquid Fire Fishing Team

We started this tournament season by leaving for Pompano Beach, FL from Swansboro, NC on April 30. My team and I arrived in Pompano Beach early the next morning. We started our preparation for the Bluewater Movements 2014 Saltwater Slam by securing bait during the first four days.

The remaining days before the tournament were spent trying to locate Big King Mackerel and Blackfin Tuna. We managed to come across both species and put together a game plan for tournament day.
Tournament day started with a Bimini Start from Hillsboro Inlet at 6:30 a.m. Within 45 minutes of our arrival we had our four biggest King Mackerels of the day in the boat.

Once the tournament was over we put our fish on the scales.

Big King Mackerel: 24.00, 24.40, 35,50, and 36.00

Blackfin Tuna: 20.30 and 27.00

We ended up with a total weight of 167.20 lbs. The team finished 29th overall in the Blue Water Movements 2014 Saltwater Shootout, which qualified us for the championship. We won the Top Family award, 2nd place Average Joe Division, and 2nd place Average Joe Bonanza.

The following day we packed up our equipment and headed across the state of Florida to Sarasota. The NBOA Gulf Coast Open and Big Pig Shootout were on our radar.

Tournament morning, May 17, started early. Lines were not allowed in the water until 6:30 a.m., however we were allowed to leave port as early as 4:00 a.m. Our trip in the pitch black was made easy thanks to our custom 40” Rigid Industries M-Series Light Bar on the T-Top.

After we landed our biggest fish of the day, 44.92 lbs., we headed for the scales. Our catch held up at 1st place in the Big Pig Shootout with a total weight of 82.24 lbs. and 2nd place in the NBOA Gulf Coast Open with the 44.09 lb. King Mackerel.
