Johnny Greaves Joins The Rigid Industries Torture Team

JGreaves-Post-1With 70 off-road race wins and multiple season championship under his belt, TORC off-road driver Johnny Greaves is the newest member of the Rigid Industries Torture Team.

Since age 12 when he started in motocross, Johnny has won races and championships in every class of racing he has competed in. Johnny switched to four wheel racing at age 23 and quickly earned success buggy racing in the SCORE and SODA race series. From 1994 to 1996, Greaves won two championships and more than 70 percent of the races he entered.

In 1998, he was victorious in 10 of 16 races and upstaged himself in 1999 with 11 wins, capturing his third Pro-Lite championship. In 2000, Greaves made the move to full-size trucks, Pro-2 Class, and 2001, he moved up to the Pro-4 (full-size, 4WD) class with great results. He is the only racer in series history to have race wins in each of the three professional classes.

Johnny reached another milestone in 2002 with a Pro-4 championship and led the class with three victories. In 2003, Greaves earned four wins to tie for the division lead. He also had nine top-five finishes in 13 races to finish fourth overall in the Pro-4 division.

Johnny won the $100,000 BorgWarner Cup and finished fifth overall in the Pro-4 division in 2004. In 2005, he won the season championship with a remarkable seven-consecutive win rally. The win streak also gave him the all-time record for consecutive CORR wins. It also brought his total win count to 44, giving him the record for most all-time CORR victories. He also won the Precision Gear 2005 Driver of the Year award.

Johnny was crowned Lucas Oil CORR Series Champion for the fifth time in 2006. He came from the back of the pack in the final CORR round to claim his seventh win of the season and win the points battle by a comfortable margin of 28 points. He was also named the 2006 Driver of the Year.

With the establishment of the World Series Off-Road Racing series, Johnny once again established himself as a dominate force in the short-course off-road racing scene. In 2007, he won his sixth career championship, the Pro 4×4 title. In the 2009 season, he finished fourth place in points. In the off season, Johnny shattered the world record for jumping a 4-wheeled vehicle, soaring 301 feet.

JGreaves-Post-2Johnny clinched another Pro 4 off-road championship in the 2010 TORC Series and was the runner-up for the points title in 2011.

After finishing third in points in 2012, Johnny took home his 10th professional championship by winning the Pro-4 class yet again in 2013.
