Rigid Industries® LED Lighting Re-signs Ashley Kidd, World Wake Surfing Champion, To Torture Team

Rigid Industries® LED Lighting, the world’s leader in forward projecting LED lighting via its patented optic systems and torture-tested housing, is proud to announce the resigning of the 2014 World Wake Surfing Champion and 2014 Female Rider of the Year, Ashley Kidd from Austin, Texas, to the Rigid Industries LED Lighting Torture Team.

Ashley grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas and now lives in Austin, Texas. She started wake surfing in 2009 and just a year later started competing professionally. Since 2010, she has landed on the competitive wake surfing podium over 25 times, an accomplishment no other professional wake surfing athlete can declare. As a matter of fact, Ashley has never finished lower than second place in any professional wake surfing competition, an extraordinary performance for anyone.

Her 2014 first place finishes in the women’s professional wake surfing division include:

  • 2014 World Wake Surf Championship
  • 2014 West Coast Wake Surf Open
  • 2014 Lake Anna Wake Surf Open
  • 2014 WWS Shred Fest
  • 2014 Russian Open Championship
  • 2014 My Wake 3 Trick contest
  • 2014 Texas Wake Surf Championship
  • 2014 TX Surf Showdown
  • 2014 USA Wake Surf Nationals

Ashley has quickly progressed and has made a name for her-self in the professional wake surfing industry. Her biggest accomplishment to date is winning the 2014 World Wake Surfing Championship in the women’s pro surf division and being named the 2014 Female Rider of the Year.

“I cant express the feeling on winning the 2014 World Wake Surfing Championship and being named the 2014 Female Rider of the Year. It’s a great feeling and it’s actually pretty crazy to think about,” Kidd explained. “It still feels like a dream! Being called a world champion has actually been one of my biggest goals for the past couple of years, so it feels amazing to finally accomplish it.”

Kidd commented on her recent resigning with Rigid Industries LED Lighting. “I am very privileged to partner up again with the Rigid Industries LED Lighting Torture Team. It’s awesome to be on the same team with such great athletes like BJ Baldwin and Bryce Menzies,” Kidd explained. “To be the only girl on the Torture Team is pretty cool too.”

Rigid Industries is proud to support Ashley as she competes in the women’s pro wake surfing division as a part of its Rigid Torture Team. Rigid Industries will rejoin Kidd’s supporting sponsors Centurion Boats, Erie Wake, Monster Energy, Pura Vida Bracelets, Hula Boat Care and JuiceLand.

“Rigid is very excited to partner up again with Ashley’s program. She brings the talent, tenacity and professionalism that we love to be a part of and we look forward to seeing what she can do in 2015,” says Taylor Anderson, Vice President of Marketing, Rigid Industries LED Lighting. “The 2014 season was a huge success for Ashley with the World Wake Surfing Championship and the Female Rider of the Year. We know she is going to get it done, no matter what.”
