Extang 2015 Ford F-150 Team Effort

You may have heard the term “many hands make a burden light,” but even with the help of multiple partners, we’d hardly describe the task of building a SEMA project vehicle as easy. Thanks to the creativity and hard work of some area community college students, Extang built a functional 2015 Ford F-150 project for the 2014 SEMA show.

The company partnered with KEG Digital Garage, Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and several other aftermarket accessory manufacturers to build a truck that was ready for work but modern and stylish. The Lariat 4×4 SuperCrew received a custom two-tone BASF paintjob with the company’s logo, Ford accessory tube steps, a BedRug bed liner, Bushwacker fender flares, and Rigid Industries LED Lighting Q-Series driving lights. Around back, the truck got a BedSlide sliding bed tray, Dee Zee headache rack and toolbox, and a Rhino-Rack rooftop mounting system.

To help the 3.5L EcoBoost breathe a little easier, the engine received an Airaid MXP cold air intake, Ford Racing exhaust, and Goodyear all-terrain tires mounted on 20-inch American Force wheels. The F-150 rides high on a 4-inch BDS lift kit with Fox coilover shocks. Of course, the cherry on top is the debut of Extang’s new Solid Fold tonneau cover, featuring integrated snap-on seals and TPO dent-proof panels. The truck will be featured at Extang’s booth at the 2014 SEMA Show.
